Bantwal: 11 Kids Injured in Lightening Strike at Madrasa

Lightening stuck a Madrasa at Lorettopadavu, located about 4 kms away here on Saturday, March 15 evening, however unfortunately in the bargain grievously injuring around 11 children in the vacinity.
 


The names of the injured have been given as Mustafa, Kalandar, Sinan, Ajman, Suhail, Sameer, Sadik, Ashiq, Sadik, Farviza and Farzana. All the children are in the age bracket between 10 to 15 years.
 
Sources here inform that the lightening struck the Madrasa at about 6.30 pm when a Musliyar was conducting classes. The impact was so severe that a part of the roof collapsed. Cracks very later discovered in the walls of the Madrasa, after the thunder strike, sources add.
 


Of the 11 injured, 6 children have been taken to Mangalore for further treatment and 4 children have been admitted at Bantwal. The lighting and thunder began about 4 pm on Saturday, in and around the Bantwal city. The entire taluk is shroud in darkness now, owing to electricity failure, sources informed further.
