London, Mar 15: UK Konkans - An association formed to bring together all the Konkans living in UK held their Biennial General Body meeting on 1st March 2008 to elect new office bearers. The meeting started with the prayer by the outgoing President – Stanislaus Mendonca followed by the elections of the new office bearers.

Stanislaus Mendonca and office bearers for their selfless service to the association and for organising various functions in the last 2 years and keeping the name of Konkans alive in the minds of Konkani speaking community settled in the UK. The new committee promises to continue with the good work of the previous committee while focussing more on younger generation to get involved in the associations activities. The new office bearers assured the members that they will try and encourage old and new Konkani speaking migrants to the UK to join the association.
