Beltangady: Financial Crisis Forces Three of Family to End Life

Beltangady, Mar 14: In a tragic incident, three persons committed suicide at Alekki house in Adinje village on Thursday, March 13 evening.

The deceased persons have been identified as Ramesh Poojary (37), his wife Sumana (32) and their youngest son, whose name is yet to be known. 

The family was supposed to attend a puja at a nearby house but when they failed to turn up, the neighbours suspected something to be wrong and knocked at their door in the evening, only to find them dead.

Ramesh Poojary, father of 3 sons, sent his two sons to their relative's house on Thursday morning. Later, Ramesh, Suman and their youngest son consumed poison. Ramesh Poojary is reported to have hanged himself from the wooden beam inside the house, when poison did not take the desired effect. 

Sources said that, Ramesh Poojary was suffering from tuberculosis and also facing financial hardships. Therefore, he committed suicide with family members, sources informed.
