M'lore: College Teachers to Stage Dharna against Govt on Mar 24

Mangalore, Mar 13: A dharna will be staged by college teachers in front of the regional offices of the Directorate of Collegiate Education (DCE) in the state on Monday March 24, stated a press release.
 
The protest is being launched against the state government for holding back the salary grants to seventeen government-aided degree colleges.

These colleges have been accredited with ‘C’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), according to the Federation of University and College Teachers’ Associations in Karnataka (FUCTAK).

A decision to this effect was taken at a recent meeting of the general council of FUCTAK. The meeting urged the government to release the salary grants at the earliest, stated the press release.  

The press release is issued by A M Narahari and C H Murigendrappa, president and general secretary of the federation.
