Mangalore: Colourful Procession Marks Adarsha's 8th Anniversary

Mangalore, Mar 12: Adarsha Agency for Development Awakening and Rural Self Help Associations, Moodbidri celebrated its 8th anniversary with dance fancy dress competitions at Moodbidre Padmavathi Kalyan Mantap recently.

According to tradition, a colourful procession was taken from Swarajya Maidan to the venue. The beneficiaries of Adarsha's community-based rehabilitation of specially-abled children lighted the lamp along with Jacob Varghese, founder of the organization.

Leaders Abhayachandra Jain and Amarnath Shetty, lecturers of Alva's Educational Institution Sherly Babu and Madhumala and Hasadullah Ismail, community member of Adarsha were present.

Promotion of self-help groups for the weaker section, Adarsha Social security fund, Gramojyothi SHG federation, enterprenership and enterprise development, comminity-based rehabilation of the specially-abled children are the major projects undertaken by Adarsha.
