Udupi, Mar 12: Two people drowned near a dam that was built in Cherkady gram panchayat limits here on Tuesday March 11.
One of the deceased has been identified as Prabhakar (23) an agricultural labourer. He had gone for a bath and was carried away by the current. Sunder Shetty (19) who jumped in to the water to save him was also washed away by the Current.
Both the bodies were recovered by the fire service personnel and a case has been registered in this regard.
