Public here managed in the nick of time to save the life of one Keshava Shettigar, who had attempted to kill himself by lying on the railway tracks in Nandikur here.
 
The victim, an electrician by profession, is understood to be facing severe financial constraints and family-related problems.

Shettigar who had sustained head injuries was found unconscious by the horrified public, who immediately informed the matter to the nearby police station.  

Police personnel then rushed to the spot and admitted the semi-concious victim to a nearby Padubidri hospital, where he underwent treatment and later even gained consciousness.  

Meanwhile police contacted his family members on telephone and informed them about the incident. Shettigar was later discharged from the hospital and sent home.
