Moodbidri, Mar 11: Shirtady Nagarika Hitha Rakshana Vedike, a forum for public interests headed by local leader Lancy Pinto staged a dharna in front of panchayat on Monday March 10.
The protestors were agitating against the gram panchayat's decision to hike the taxes. They termed the decision as unscientific as it is hiked by 10 times more than the usual.
They have now served an ultimatum of 15 days to the gram panchayat to solve the problem. A failure in this regard will lead to serious consequences, warned the agitators.
