Udupi, Mar 5: A one-day workshop on ‘Gem and Jewellery for Women' will be organised by Manipal Institute of Jewellery Management (MIJM) at Dr T M A Pai Planetarium seminar hall on March 7.
Addressing media persons Manipal Institute of Jewellery Mangament director Prof Madhav Shanbhag said that the main aim of the seminar is to create awareness on the evolution of jewellery and to identify the quality of gem and jewellery.
The programme will be inaugurated by Manipal University hostel management committee chairperson Vasanthi Pai.
The guest of honour will be Manipal University vice-chancellor Dr Raj P Warrier while pro-chancellor Dr H S Ballal will preside over the function.
There will be an exhibition of low cost modern and silver jewellery. Experts in the field from Mangalore and Udupi will participate, he said.
