Awareness Programme: An awareness event on 'Addiction and Youth' will be organized by the Social Welfare department of the Meridian College at Kulal Bhavan in Suratkal on March 6.
 Resource persons on the occasion will be Heleyangadi government first grade college NSS programme officer Jagadish Bala and Link de-addiction centre, city social worker N W Pinto would deliver a talk on the subject.
 
INTUC district president Rakesh Malli will be inaugurating the event, while Meridian College principal D C Joby will preside, informs a press release. 
 
'Manthana -08': The annual HR seminar of the MSW department of Srinivas Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) entitled 'Manthana-08' will be held at the college premises here on March 3 and 4.
 
The theme of the seminar will be 'Soft Skills Rx-A Prescription for Effectives.' And the function will be inaugurated by Shahi Exports, Bangalore deputy general manager Paul and presided over by A Raghavendra Rao.
 
The chief guests will be MCF vice-president (Human Resources) A Fernandes, Zilla Panchayat president K P Sucharita Shetty, Jayakrishna Parisara Premi Samiti president Jayakrishna Shetty, A Shama Rao foundation (ASRF) president A Srinivas Rao and secretary D Shashikala R Rao, informs a press release here. 
 
Green Building Seminar: A seminar on 'The concept of Green Building: Energy and Resources Conservation and Management' will be organised by the association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Mangalore chapter jointly with the local unit of the Association of British scholars here at the Karnataka bank hall in Kodialbail on Tuesday March 11. 
 
The highlight of the seminar will be the benefits of building green buildings and green building movements in India, environmental friendly techniques in building activities and the government's initiation in this direction.
 
Study Camp: A five-day state-level study camp of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) will be organized at Kalaangann auditorium at Shaktinagar between March 5 and March 9, informed DYFI district secretary Munir Katipalla.
 
The aim of the camp will be to focus on strengthening the youth movement in the state besides discussing the ideological and youth related issues. Around 250 delegates from different parts of the state will be participating in the camp.
 
The resource persons will be DYFI national president P Ramakrishnan, CITU state president B Madhav, DYFI state leaders S Y Gurushanth, Nithyananda Swami and others. The camp will be inaugurated by noted writer C Veeranna.
 
Aquarium Training: A three-day free training programme on 'Aquarium Fabrication, Maintenance, Ornamental fish production and preparation of value-added products from fish' will be organised by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra at its office premises near Kankanady here from Thursday March 13, informs a press release.
 
Those interested such as farmers, rural unemployed youths and members of self-help groups of the district who wish to undergo training may contact the Kendra coordinator.
