Mangalore: 'Mathemagic' Charms Students at Lourdes Central School

Mangalore, Feb 29: 'Mathemagic' a mathematics exhibition-cum-competition project was inaugurated at Lourdes Central School, Bejai here on Friday February 29 for the first time.

Professor Ameen Hassan, principal of Lilavathi Shetty College of Education, Kavoor was the chief guest.

Hassan inaugurated the programme by demonstrating an experiment on parallel lines. He invited a student Karthik Bhat of class VIII to cut a loop along the middle using a scissors. To everyone's surprise instead of becoming two loops it became one. Thus the students were introduced to 'Mobius Loop'.

Disha Bhandary of class VIII compered the programme and Lakshmi Kiran of class VIII proposed the vote of thanks. Students of classes VI to VIII took part in the competition wholeheartedly.

Students of St Francis Xavier Higher Primary School and Lourdes High School, Bejai were present.
