Gurmehar Kaur withdraws from Save DU campaign

New Delhi, Feb 28 (Agencies): Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of Kargil martyr, who kicked up a row due to her stand against the BJP's student wing ABVP has withdrawn from Save DU campaign on Tuesday morning.

Kaurs' tweet says she is withdrawing from the campaign.

She says 'the campaign is about students and not about me'. She asks students to go to the March in huge numbers.


Kaur's social media campaign against ABVP went viral after the alleged violence by the student group on Ramjas Colllege campus in Delhi University north campus.

    Using violent methods to stop a debate or settle political differences is a crime regardless of location but when violence is unleashed on a university campus – against students and teachers – the assault takes on an altogether more sinister dimension.

    India started off with big-tent nationalism based on land. It's now shifting to a notion based on ideology and blood.

Today, even cricketers, actors and a swarm of social media users propagate its basic ideas. Like all ideological and ethnic nationalisms, it is fierce – so much so that even a dead army man’s daughter’s nationalism could fall short of it. If she fails to subscribe to the Hindutva version of nationalism, even she can be compared to a terrorist.
    Universities must be sanctuaries where young minds can develop and be nurtured in an atmosphere that is free from violence and intimidation. If the government is unwilling to respect the idea of a university, other cherished ideas will all soon fall by the wayside.
    The blatant acts of thuggery that the Asbhya Besharam Violent People unleashed at Ramjas College, Delhi University this week is an attack on the idea of the university, on reason and wisdom, on the rights enshrined in the Constitution, and on the very idea of India.

    I feel bad for Gurmeher. From her posts, I could see that her acrimony towards ABVP is due to the fact that she lost her father when NDA was in rule. I was convinced of this fact when she said that "It was war which killed her father and not Pakistan". Now branding her as anti-national is incorrect and insensitive.

    All student organizations are a bunch of goons who represent political parties. A total ban on all student organization affiliated with political parties is required.

    No one has branded her as anti national. She is mocked, trolled for her hypocricy Whcih is a right of any indivdual to express their opinion just like the way she did in social media. That's all. If she opposes ABVP, let her, its her right , thousands of other may also oppose them or their stand or views. No big deal .When you are ready to give something,Be ready to to take it as well, not playing a victim card. Regarding Threats , of course law should take It's course and the guilty must be booked. But I believe this alleged threat is only used as a campaign tool and no FIR is booked till date so that the culprit wether he is a Sanghi or Dongi or a Comi should pay for it. She is only playing politics using Martyr card or being played by the politicians backing her , that's all. Another Kanhaiya Kumar in making.

    All these noise by the prestituttes is to just influence the remaiingin poll phases in UP to vote against BJP as usual. After the last phase of election, this will die down as usual. Whenever any elections came in any states, Dongis, Comis and presstitutes created this Fake Insecure, intolerance blah blah environment to influence the electorate, that's all. May it be by using Hardik or Kanayia.

    I really cannot understand how a fight between 2 student groups in Delhi in some university over a visit of a individual can be a threat to rest of the country which is living normally, peacefully whitouth getting influenced by this. Only the Comis & dongis have right to express their feelings, not others. Shewag or Randeep Hooda Or Prathap Simha expressing their opinion in the form of mock or joke is not "their right". Of course no person deserves to be thrtened by Rape , in social media or in real. If they threat is real, why not there is a police complaint or police action on the accused ? Did ABVP make it, Did BJP make it ? Did RSS make it ?... Who made it ..no Answer. All drama and staged for the purpose of state election. Yesterday another round of Photos were circulating about this girl participating in a Left wing Communist party activity in November 2016 (of course this is her choice and right and its not a crime). But Presstitutes will not highlight this. This whole incident is staged and pre pland. Even the withdrawel now so that she can play a victim card.

    Her father Died as a martyr, if so we dont have any disrespect for that, of course we salute him for his brave act of laying down his life for the very right that we are arguing about what is right and what is Left being alive today. Knowingly or unknowingly this girl is falling into trap of politics. If her father was alive, am sure he would not have allowed her to support the people who support his killers who are the real security threat for India today.

    ..she cant cry victim when she knows what she is doing, what will be the result..she has to face it bravely..she took on ABVP, ABVP retaliates..newton law..as far personal threat is concerned she should approach court if police didnt catch culprit..our so called national media should know that other than DELHI, there are other states in INDIA..student union fighting worst in WB/TN/KERALA where ABVP is in receiving end..from assault to killing , no national media covers it..they are busy in DU/JNU..as far is politics is concerned, there is rise in right wing politics all over the world whether its India,Germany, france, USA..even sweden,switzerland witnessing it..main reason is the siculars, liberals has no answer or silent all along on the left wing atrocities, communals acts of their supporters..even they stand with anti nationals if they oppose right wing..no one returns award if a Dalit girl or boy killed in kerala,WB but they very quick if it happens in Gujrat or MP..
