PDP minister's carcade attacked in Kashmir


Srinagar, Feb 27 (IANS): A policeman was injured when youths attacked a People's Democratic Party (PDP) minister's carcade in south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Monday.

According to police, angry youths pelted stones at the carcade of Zahoor Ahmad Mir, junior minister for Forests and Environment in Ratnipora village.

Mir's security guards fired in the air and tear smoke shells were used by security personnel to control the mob.

"A local policeman has been injured in the incident. The minister escaped unhurt," a police official said.
