Udupi, Feb 25: Kota and Mumbai police have arrested three persons in connection with the mysterious murder of a certain Ali, whose body was found under Mabukala bridge here a few weeks ago.

The arrested persons have been identified as Anwar from Karkala and Faran from Pune. The name of the third arrested person was not yet known while another accused, Deepak is said to be absconding. Kota police have taken custody of all the three persons and subjected them for heavy interrogation.

Ali was working as driver with a rent-a-car firm in Pune. According to reports, the accused hired his Toyoto Innova to go to Mangalore and Udupi. After murdering Ali they dumped his body under Mabukala bridge and fled with the car.

So far motive behind the murder is not clear though there are suspicions that the accused were professional car lifters. However, personal rivalry too might have been the cause behind the murder, said some unsolicited sources.
