Mangalore, Feb 24: 'Bhava Sanchaya,' a painting-poetry programme, organized by Vanya Charana Balaga, was held atop Devanda Hills on the bank of the Netravati River at Fajir – Kurnad, located at the outskirts of city, on Sunday February 24.

The programme organized has proved that art fills the mind and widens the horizon of heart and it is beyond doubt that literature and art purify mind and soul, opined Ravi Shanker Oddambettu, lecturer at Government Pre-University College, Kanyana, who was also the chief guest at the occasion.

The role played by art is incomparably significant, especially these days where mankind is running after hallucinations like urbanization and consumerism, he added.

Dinesh Holla, convener of programme, speaking to daijiworld.com, said it’s their prime intention of organizing the programme in the nature’s bounty, in order to inspire the poets and artists, to bring to fore their best of inherent talent’

B Shabbir Ali, art teacher at city's BGM School of Arts, inaugurated the programme. Permude Mohan Kumar, art teacher at Canara High School and another chief guest of the day also spoke on the occasion. Dr Vamana Nandavara, scholar in folklore delivered the presidential address.

On the whole 22 poets read their poems and equal number of artists draw paintings.  The venue was indeed a motivational one, since it gives clear view of Netravati river, boatmen ferrying people, locals involved in traditional fishing, lush paddy fields ashore and green vegetation around.
