Udupi: End Point All Set to Beckon Tourists

Udupi, Feb 19: Once a dry land `End Point’ in Manipal, has now been converted into a spectacular landscape, attracting people from various places. Thanks to the Manipal University, which has been putting a commendable effort for developing gardens, park, installing fountains and constructing huts in the area.

Despite having an amazing landscape of river Swarna passing through the valley, and being an ideal spot for watching sunset, due to lack of facilities, it had failed to attract more tourists. Lack of widespread trees or any kind of shelter in the area also kept the visitors away from End Point during day time.

Gone are the days, the End Point is all set to woo visitors with its new outlook and improved facilities. The view of the lush green football and the cricket grounds, developed beside End Point, also gives an additional look to the spot.

The road to End Point, for about 2.5 kms, was indeed a natural jogging track and many fitness freaks used to walk and jog since a decade. But the racing bikes, doing rounds in the evening hours, were a fear factor. The new jogging track doing a round of End Point for 1.5 kms has been constructed, using hollow bricks, overcomes this problem too.

Meanwhile, activists of `Sangh Pariwar’, recently removed the barricades kept to prevent the entry of vehicles to End Point. “Today also a platoon of speedy bikers, in the joy of winning a cricket match, paraded till End Point. Restriction to vehicles is required to enjoy the beauty of the spot,” says a visitor.
