Udupi: Transformers Installed to Counter Power Problems

Udupi, Feb 18: Several transformers have been installed across the district to counter the problem of low power voltage, said Sumanth, CEO of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM)

Sumanth was delivering a lecture on the topic ‘Measures to Improve Power Sector’ held during a farmers’ convention held here on Saturday February 16.

The problem of load-shedding will not be so erratic in Udupi district when compared to the neighbouring districts, as it has been equipped with more number of feeders. Auto re-disclosure equipment have also been installed to prevent disruption of electricity supply, he added.

M Jayasurya, MESCOM district executive engineer and Lakshman, chief engineer who were present on the occasion responded to the grievances of consumers.

The session was presided over by Panduranga Naik, president of district peasants association.  Sadananda Suvarna Udyavar welcomed the gathering. Ronald Menezes Shirva compered the programme.
