Malfunctioning voting machines a mischief, asks Kejriwal

New Delhi, Feb 5 (IANS): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday attacked the poll panel over malfunctioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in Punjab, wondering if it was a "mischief".

"Never has any election seen malfunctioning EVMs on such a large scale. Was it a mischief done deliberately by or in collusion with EC?" Kejriwal tweeted.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader's remarks followed reports that more than 150 EVMs did not function properly in various assembly constituencies in Punjab on Saturday.

Voting was stopped for over an hour at some polling stations due to the glitches.

Even the VVPAT (voter verified paper audit trail) machines developed snags at several places.
