Mangaluru: Lourdes bids farwell to outgoing seniors at 'Jyothi Pradhan'

Mangaluru, Jan 31: Lourdes Central School organised 'Jyothi Pradhan' for the outgoing students of class X and XII on Saturday, January 28. The ceremony began by invoking God’s blessings with a prayer song. Linet D’Souza, the science coordinator extended a cordial welcome to Fr Wilson Vitus D’Souza, manager of LCS, Fr Robert D'Souza, principal of LCS, Belita Mascarenhas, vice principal, and Fr Stany Pinto, assistant parish priest, Bejai church.

A divine ambience through a prayer service was followed by a reflection by Deepa D’Souza, the English co-ordinator, Shaila and Dilla Colaco, English teachers. The ceremony was inaugurated by ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the manager, principal, and vice principal. The class teachers then passed on the light to student representatives. Head boy Aman Mertia administered the oath to all the students.



















































Fr Wilson Vitus D’Souza who presided over the programme urged students to uphold the values of the school and spread them wherever they went. The principal spoke on occasion and wished luck to the students for their upcoming exams and their future. Vignesh Kamath of class X and Larissa Patrao of class XII shared their nostalgic moments in LCS. The school management felicitated each student with a memento.

A spectacular powerpoint presentation filled with mixed emotions of student life of class X and XII in Lourdes was presented by Chandini and Girish, the computer teachers. Teachers of class X and XII entertained the students by conducting some interesting games.

Belita Mascarenhas highlighted the significance of the day. Gowri Ravi, the social science teacher, compered the programme meticulously. Vanshika Shetty of class X delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the school anthem.
