It is absurd to tag a community as ST/SC. The status has to be determined by the fact that how rich or backward they are. It is in the best interest of all Indians, the clause SC/ST is to be aboLished and backward tag is to be given not to the community but to the individual based on his income. Tomorrow the Brahmins may ask for ST tag to their community.

Seems well organized event with huge gathering. These sorts of meets are required for maintaining the unity among the community. But requesting ST status for Mogaveeras looks like an absurd demand. The community is better placed when compared to others who are in line requesting the ST status.

It is left to community members to decide the credibility of the request and make way for others who are desperately in need of it to improve their standard of living.
