Mangalore: Day Light Theft Reported at Padubail near Mulky

Mangalore, Feb 3: In a broad day light robbery, thieves have decamped with jewellery worth Rs 60 thousand by breaking open the front door of a house, at Padubail, near Mulky, on National Highway (NH) 17, here on Saturday, February 2. 

Thieves have stolen 7.5 sovereign gold from ‘Castle’ house, owned by Cyprian Rodrigues, resident of Padubail which comes under the jurisdiction of Karnad. 

Thieves have robbed the jewellery in broad day light when Lydia, wife of Cyprian Rodrigues has gone to attend a wedding in the neighbourhood while the children have gone to school.  Lydia’s husband works in the Gulf.  However, when she returned home, she found front door broken and cupboards ransacked while 7.5 sovereign gold jewellery was missing.  Moreover, she was relieved to find 20 sovereign gold jewellery intact; which was kept in the same cupboard, apart from the stolen jewellery. 

Mulky police have visited the house; who suspect the role of neighbours behind this theft.  Accordingly, they filed the case and initiated the probe.
