Daijjiworld Media Network - Puttur (MM/AF)

Puttur, Jan 31: P Vasant Kumar, assistant commissioner of Puttur was in the news recently for demolishing buildings in the town which left the locals here praying that the local body government would not come in to power soon.

Now the same officer is in the news again, but this time it is the shopkeepers who are facing the music.

The officers’ team here headed by P Vasant Kumar has decided to demolish some more buildings to make way for smooth movement of traffic. The team has already listed the names of buildings to be demolished from Arun film theatre to Boluvaru here. The team had recently demolished the buildings of many shopkeepers, including those of many influential persons, from Darbe to Boluvaru.

Several traders had decided to challenge the assistant commissioner in this matter but they failed and many of them vacated their buildings voluntarily. The strict and unbiased decisions of the assistant commissioner proved costly for traders here.

The assistant commissioner has decided to demolish the buildings before the local body government could come into existence.

Meanwhile, the district administration has also supported Vasant Kumar whole heartedly. One cannot deny that the existence of President’s rule in the state has helped the strict officers to do their job efficiently.
