Beltangady, Jan 29: Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala will organize a mass marriage ceremony here on April 30. Registration for the same is now open.
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade has been organizing such mass marriage ceremonies from the year 1972, with the primary aim of eradicating the evils of dowry and to reduce wedding expenses. More than 10,000 couples were wedded last year which was a record by itself.
The bridegrooms will be gifted dhoti-shawl while the brides will be given saris and mangalsutra.
Those who wish to register for the mass marriage ceremony may enroll their names at the registration office in Dharmasthala before April 26.
