14 killed in Afghanistan accident

Kabul, Dec 18 (IANS): At least 14 persons were killed and 41 injured in an accident in Afghanistan's Farah province on Sunday, police said.

"A bus travelling from Herat province to Kabul crashed into a parked cargo truck in Gulshan district," Xinhua news agency quoted a police official as saying.

A total of 57 persons were aboard the vehicle.

The police have detained the driver of the truck and launched an investigation into the incident.
