Mangalore, Jan 24:
Celebrated instrumental artiste Kadri Gopalnath performed in perfect harmony with Kanyakumari and Suramani Praveen Godkindi at a 'jugalbandi' concert organized at the Town hall here, on Wednesday January 23.

Kadri Gopalnath was as usual at his terrific best on saxophone and accompanying him on stage were some of the most celebrated names in the field of Carnatic music.

One of them being Praveen Godkhindi on the ‘Bansuri’ (flute), who completely mesmerized music lovers here. He always has had a huge fan following and here too he won a lot of appreciation from the audience.

The other accompanying artiste was Kanyakumari on the violin, who as usual was effortless and brilliant. The show turned out to be a perfect 'jugalbandi' concert indeed. There was superb synchronization between all three.

In case of Gopalnath and Kanyakumari, it was difficult to identify who was leading the show: saxophone Gopalnath or violin Kanyakumari. Nevertheless, it is to her credit that she did not outdo the main artiste.

The veteran violinist followed Gopalnath very closely with quiet dedication. The match between the two proved exceedingly good and there was never a dull moment.

This instrumental classical musical performance is part of the ongoing Karavali Utsav celebrations being presented for the music aficionados of the city. Indeed, a veritable musical feast it turned out to be.
