Mangalore, Jan 24: Bearys Mindwaves 2008 painting competition will be organised by Bearys Public School for students as part of Republic Day celebrations here on Saturday January 26.

Addressing press persons here on Wednesday January 23, institution principal Jane Sequeira said that the school has been organizing this competition for the last six years.

Nearly 700 children from 50 schools of the city, Udupi, and Kasargod are expected to take part, she said.

The children are requested to bring drawing boards, water colours, paints, crayons and other art materials except drawing sheets. Students from nursery to standard X are eligible to participate.  No entry fee will be charged.

The prizes will be presented by Dakshina Kannada Drawing Teachers Association president Ganesh Somayaji at a formal function to be held on the same day at 4.15 pm. Prior to this there will be a talk on ‘Give Your Child a Winning Edge’ for parents at 2 pm, said Sequeira.

School correspondent Mohideen and art teacher Madhusudan were present.
