Rifle snatched from J&K policeman


Srinagar, Dec 16 (IANS): A group of protesters snatched a service rifle from a policeman in Jammu and Kashmir's Badgam district on Friday, police said.

"During the post Friday prayer protests in Makhama village of Badgam district, a group of protesters snatched an INSAS rifle with a magazine and 20 rounds from local policeman," a senior police officer said here.

Meanwhile, protests between stone-pelting mobs and the security forces also erupted in old city's Nowhatta area here, south Kashmir's Bijbehara and north Kashmir's Sopore towns after Friday prayers.
