Mangalore: Police Arrest Thief, Recover Gold Worth Rs 1 Lac

Mangalore, Jan 23: A person accused of stealing jewellery from his employer's house was arrested by the Bunder police here on Wednesday January 23. 

The arrested person has been identified as Chandraiah, a resident of Harihar in Davanagere district. The police have also recovered jewellery worth Rs 1 lac. 

The accused was found to be suspiciously moving in the city, trying to sell the jewellery.  However, the theft came to light during interrogation when he was taken in to police custody. 

He confessed that he had stolen the jewellery from a certain Felix Lobo of Yeyyady with whom he was employed, about 10 days ago. The stolen jewellery consists of two chains, one necklace and two rings.
