M'lore: Training Camp for Representatives of CAP – Cell Held

Mangalore, Jan 22: Career Advancement Programme (CAP) – Cell was established in the diocese here, with a chief objective to provide information on higher education leading to government service by diocesan community brethren, held the training camps/workshop to representatives of CAP – Cell, appointed in various parishes, with the view to inspire, educate and practice on grass-root level.  Accordingly, workshops were held on first week of January at Centre for Organizing Development Programmes (CODP) auditorium, located at Padua High School campus, in the city, on second week of January at Our Lady of Dolorous parish, Udupi and on third week of January at Infant Jesus parish, Modankap, Bantwal taluk.

Almost all the parish representatives have actively attended these workshops. 

Fr Onil, director of CAP – Cell, was the resource person delivered talk on ‘what is meant by CAP? It’s objective and functioning’ in order to educate the representatives on the objectives of CAP – Cell.

Prof Steven Quadros Permude, professor of University College, spoke on ‘the challenges of our community in empowering socially, economically, educationally and politically’.

Francis D’Cunha Mulky and Fr Oswald Monteiro spoke in length on ‘significant work achieved through focusing on future and growth in this regard’.

Prof Steven, also elaborated on ‘how the units of CAP – Cell formed in every parish and deanery can render its yeomen service?’

JR Lobo, who was present at the workshop held at CODP auditorium, called on the representatives of CAP – Cell to work as laity missionaries.

Fr Mathew Vas, vicar general of Udupi deanery, Fr Roque D’Sa, vicar general of Bantwal deanery, inaugurated the workshops in their respective deanery and conveyed the message to CAP – Cell representatives.
