M'lore: Family Week Celebrations Cheer Valencia Parishoners

Mangalore, Jan 21: St Vincent Ferrer Church, Valencia here celebrated ‘Family Week-2008’ on Saturday January 19.

The programme began with a Eucharistic celebration. Fr Peter Paul Saldanha, professor of St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu was the main celebrant, who presented prizes to the winners of various competitions held during the week.

Parish priest Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, parish vice-president of parish council Arun Raj Rodrigues, assistant parish priest Fr Maxim Rosario, secretary Flavia Sequeira, family welfare committee convener Sylvia Sequeira were present on the dais.

A comedy play ‘Kaun Ulaitha?’ was staged by the Kalaakul theatre troupe of Mandd Sobhann. The play was written and directed by Nellu Permannur.

Patrick D’Souza compered the programme while Thomas D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.

Family Week has been celebrated by the Valencia parish for the last seven years. It is the only parish that celebrates family week.

Group III: Daniel Caldeira

Bible Skit:
1st Prize:  Maya Caldeira and family
2nd Prize: Richard and Sandra Lobo

IV. Janet Caldeira  and Sandra Lobo

Cooking:
I. Shalet Noronha and family
II. Jaison and Joseline Pinto
III. Johnson Lee and Leena

I.  Trevor and Roysten D'Souza
II.  Alwyn and Romeo D'Souza
III. Robin and Vivian Sequeira
