Mangalore: New Cardiology Department Opened at KSHEMA

Mangalore, Jan 19: Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital in its efforts to upgrade its facilities in the field of health has decided to set up an ultra-modern cardiology department. The hospital has also opened 100 special rooms to take care of the requirements of higher strata of people.

A press release stated that the hospital has installed INNOVA 2100 IQ Flat Panel Cath Lab from GE which is the latest technology in cardiac investigation.  This equipment is one of the very few equipments installed in Karnataka.

The Cath Lab is supported by an ultra modern inductive cardiac care autospin unit and digital subtraction imaging, multi para meter monitors, ECG machines, ventilators etc., The cardiology dept is equipped with the latest TMT machines, echocardiography machines, defibrillators, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) etc, the release stated.

The cardiothoracic department is equipped with a modern operation theatre with laminar flow, ultra modern OT tables and lights, ventilator, heart-lung machine with haemotherm, latest anesthesia equipments, ETO gas sterilizer, dialysis units and a host of upgraded investigative facilities.

The hospital will have 100 special rooms including regular rooms, air conditioned and suites. The special rooms are located in close proximity to the OTs, ICCU and ICU.

The evening clinics are available for consultation from 4.30 to 7.30 on all working days.

The facilities are unique as all diagnosis and treatment are available at a single point, stated the release.
