Landslides hit Indonesia, 1 dead


Jakarta, Dec 3 (IANS): One person was killed and 2 others injured after landslides struck Indonesia, National Disaster Management official said on Saturday.

Heavy rains triggered the landslide in East Java when loose earth fell on a house in Plosorejo village, said Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the agency.

"The owner of the house was killed, Xinhua news reported.

On November 30, landslides hit Bulurejo village, leaving another person dead.

Indonesia is frequently hit by landslide and floods during heavy rain.
