Udupi: Now Puttige Swamiji goes on Fast for Peace

Udupi, Jan 17: Shri Sugunendra Swamiji of Puttige Math began fasting on Tuesday January 14, in order to cleanse the mind and heart before ascending the Paryaya Peetha on Friday January 18.  

As reported earlier Swamijis of five Maths have been vehemently opposing Puttige swamiji's ascension to Paryaya Peetha. The movement is led by Shri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math who is on fast for the last couple of days. 

The long-pending issue has grown into a controversy in the last few days.  The matter even went to the court which gave a verdict in favour of Puttige Swamiji and allowed him to offer puja to Lord Krishna.
