Mangalore, Jan 16: Stany Alvares has been appointed as the general secretary of office-bearers'/ committee members' for Dakshina Kannada District Congress Committee - Minority Department.

The appointment has been done by B A Mohideen Bava, president for Dakshina Kannada district Congress Minority wing.

Stany is a household name among Konkani buffs as a master compere of Konkani programmes.  Being the coordinator of premier Konkani organization Mandd Sobhann, he has been in the forefront of Konkani-related activities.
