PM's brother performs puja at temple abutting Charminar


Hyderabad, Nov 26 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's younger brother Prahlad Modi on Saturday performed puja at Bhagyalaxmi temple abutting the historic Charminar in Hyderabad city.

The temple management committee and priest welcomed him. Prahlad participated in various rituals.

Prahlad, who was on a sight-seeing visit to the city, said he was happy to be in Hyderabad.

"I have come for darshan of Bhagyalaxmi mataji. I prayed for the well being of the people of the country," he told the media.

Prahlad said he saw smiles on the faces of the people here. "I have not seen any problem here due to demonetisation of high currency notes," he said.

Prahlad, who also visited Chowmohalla Palace, Salar Jung Museum and other monuments in the city, called for providing all necessary facilities to national players of hockey, football and cricket to encourage them.

Narendra Modi was also in Hyderabad on Saturday to address the annual conference of top police officers at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National police Academy here.
