Adani, Ambani had prior info on demonetisation, says Rajastan BJP MLA

Rajastan, Nov 17 (Agencies) : Ruling BJP legislator Bhawani Singh Rajawat stirred controversy when he was caught on camera criticising the Narendra Modi government’s decision to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes and alleging that industrialists Gautam Adani and Ambanis had prior information of the demonetisation decision.

However, when the video was broadcast on a news channel, the Ladpura (Kota) legislator denied he had given any such statement.

Some channels ran a video news in which Rajawat was seen talking to journalists in Kota that “Ambani-Adani ko pehle se pata tha aur unko hint de diya gaya aur unhone apna kar liya” (Ambani and Adani were given hints of demonetisation after which they converted their money).
In the video, Rajawat also criticised the quality of new Rs 2,000 denomination, which he said appears fake on touching it.

“Adequate currency should have been printed prior to the demonetisation move keeping in view the population,” Rajawat was heard saying in the video.

Rajawat’s controversial jibe came at a time when opposition parties were accusing Modi government of giving prior information of demonetisation to industrialists and black money hoarders.

Rajawat refuted giving any such statement to media. “I was just chatting informally with some journalists but did not give any statement against demonetisation,” he told Hindustan Times.

He, however, said demonetisation was affecting farmers due to currency crunch but the move would certainly fetch black money.

This is not the first time when Rajawat is in trouble for his controversial jibe.

He was earlier accused of threatening people to give votes to the BJP in the Kota Municipal Corporation election in 2014 and had questioned the role of coaching students from Bihar studying in Kota behind the alleged murder of a student from the state.

Couple of months ago, the three-time MLA from Ladpura had talked about gunning down the crocodiles that he said had been troubling the people of his constituency.

I appreciate ur blind support to CONgress as well. Had this action taken by any party it would attract speculation that the party knew of it. so should the fact that some people of this country speculate of connivance such a decision to demonetise currency not be taken?. There should somebody at some time to take action on this scourge right? Let the people who allege wrong doing bring some proof and not use conjecture. the effect of this on price rupee value is too early to say as the period of demonitesation itself is not over. if your proof is strong enough let me join you to vote out the government. untill you do that let me remain a bhakth.

    Very good question.
Every day is not a Sunday.
We cannot live on probabilities and doubts. Since all the opposite political parties are now joined hands (exception Nitesh Kumar) there could be a better vigilance and legal process to find out any loop holes. By that every ones claims and will clear.

Even there is no guarantee on the present Rs. 2,000- notes. But next time they will be bit careful.
Do not keep all the eggs in one basket. In other words maintain the risk probability by keeping different denomination at any given time. We can spread the risk.

Senior leader Sitaram Yechury in the Parliament debate yesterday claimed that Crores of Rupees were deposited in some bank in Kolkatta just few hours before Modi's speech on National TV.
Surely the claims by opposite parties and counter claim by ruling party will lead to further tussle for the days to come. Through investigation by RBI & IT needs to be done.

Who ever has lost the cash are now grumbling and mumbling. In this age of electronic media and instant messaging if any prior details were given to any person, the news would have spread within no time like a wild fire. It is immature to say Ambani and Adani were given prior info. Even if the details were given, surely they would inform their Financial advisors/Charted Accountants and news would spread within no time.
All the people who are crying now is the case of sour grapes. They have been hit hard and they dont know what or how it hit. They are now only trying to hide their misery blaming Ambani & Adani
