COP 8 on tobacco control in Geneva under India's presidency


Greater Noida, Nov 12 (IANS): The eighth edition of the World Health Organisation's Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) will be held in Geneva under the presidency of India, it was announced here on Saturday.

According to a senior health official, the event is likely to be held in late 2018.

"The event is to be presided by India in Geneva in 2018," the official told IANS.

WHO FCTC is the world's biggest convention to frame anti-tobacco control policies. The seventh edition of the six-day-long convention concluded here on Saturday.
