M'lore: Konkani Sahitya Academy to Host 'Yuva Mahotsav'

Mangalore, Jan 9: The state Konkani Sahitya Academy will be organizing 'Konkani Yuva Mahotsav' on Saturday February 2 and Sunday February 3, in association with Konkani Yuva Awaz and Maandd Sobhann at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar here. 

Three categories of Konkani multiple competitions will be held during the event.

On February 2, competitions will be held for the students of pre-university, degree colleges and technical institutions.

On February 3, open competitions for members of the general public will be held.

Every team in each category will be granted 25 minutes during which the team has to present a solo song, a group song, a group dance and a recital.

Prizes:

Cash awards of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 will be presented to the teams who secure first, second and third places respectively in each category. Moreover, a cash award of Rs 5,555 will be presented to top Konkani youth team, which secures the highest points among all the categories.  Further, the cash award of Rs 1000 will be presented to three teams who reach the finals.
