Hyderabad Literary Festival to celebrate Filipino, Tamil culture

Hyderabad, Nov 10 (IANS): The seventh edition of Hyderabad Literary Festival, to be held on January 27-29 next year, will have its focus on Filipino culture and Tamil literature.

It will be held at the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet.

While Tamil has been selected as the Indian language for this year, a rich fare of Filipino literature, art, and culture is in the offing at the festival. The Philippine is the guest nation of the festival this year.

The spirit of the ancient culture will be celebrated through dance, martial art form (silambam) and a commemorative section on M.S. Subbulakshmi. Several Tamil writers, authors and other luminaries will be gracing the occasion.

A 13-member delegation of writers, artistes, and academics led by Vim Nadera, Director of the Philippines International Literary Festival and a Unesco Fellow, will participate in panel discussions and readings, give lecture demonstrations, conduct workshops, and present a cultural programme at the festival.
