Bangalore: Rs 15,000 Laptop Makes Debut in City

Bangalore, Jan 8 (mb): Mumbai-based computer assembling company, Allied Computer International (Asia) Limited (ACi), will soon launch a laptop - ACi ultra mini - for Rs 14,999 under its own ACi brand.

The laptop will be launched is being launched on January 8 in Bangalore. The high-end version of this laptop with revolving touch screen and tablet features will be rolled out towards the month-end.

ACi ultra mini will be first offered to users in India before its distribution abroad. ACi ultra-mini comes with VIA 1.0 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM and is WiFi enabled. It weighs a mere 950 grams and houses a 7” TFT screen. The company is targeting the product for users who are looking for budget computing on the move. “Sale of this product including our eight other range of laptops is expected to push the turnover of the company well beyond the targeted Rs200 crore for the fiscal 2008-09” said the MD of ACi, Hirji Patel.

Currently, the company has production capacity of 25,000 units per month at Mumbai and Gandhinagar.
