Mangalore: G V Rao to Deliver Talk on ‘Mission Mangalore’

Mangalore, Jan 8: A talk on ‘Mission Mangalore,’ jointly organized by State Bank of India and the Mangalore City Corporation, will be delivered by Gollerkery Vishwanath Rao, retired assistant director of UNESCO in Paris, at Town Hall here on Wednesday January 9.

Gollerkery Vishwanath Rao is popularly known as G V Rao. Completing his studies at Ganapathi High School and the University College, he joined UNESCO as a young trainee. Later he became an assistant director general of UNESCO.

He was awarded with Mahatma Gandhi International Peace Prize gold medal for his contributions to the peace process.

He continued his work as a special advisor to director general of the UNESCO even after his retirement.
