12 killed as dense smog leads to huge car pile-up in Pakistan


Islamabad, Nov 3 (IANS): At least 10 people were killed and over 40 others sustained severe injuries on Thursday as cars rammed into one another at an interchange in Islamabad city, media reported.

According to initial details, dense smog near Sukhekhi Interchange between Rawalpindi and Islamabad area dropped the visibility to zero resulting in the collisions between 12 cars, Dunya News reported.

Rescue and police personnel arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to Pindi Bhattian Hospital.

Separately in Faisalabad, crash between cars left two passengers dead and five people injured.
