Sisodia meets kin of ex-soldier, detained

New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS): Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was detained by police here on Wednesday while speaking to the family of a retired soldier who committed suicide.

"A former soldier commits suicide due to actions of the central government and I get detained just for talking to his family. This is too much," Sisodia tweeted.

Ram Kishan Grewal committed suicide on Tuesday evening here, allegedly demanding the implementation of the OROP scheme. His body was taken to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for autopsy which Sisodia visited.

"The Prime Minister is busy taking credit (for) the soldiers' bravery and today a former soldier commits suicide. Who is responsible for this?" Sisodia asked.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Sisodia's detention.

"Manish Sisodia detained? He had gone to meet family of deceased Ram Kishanji. He is an elected Deputy Chief Minister. What is wrong with you, Modiji? So insecure?

"Will a Deputy Chief Minister be arrested if he visits a deceased's family who hails from his state to offer condolence? This is the limit of hooliganism, Modiji," Kejriwal added.
