Mangalore, Jan 3: An international conference ‘Challenges in Health Care Management’ was held at Yenepoya Hospital Kodialbail here on Wednesday January 2.

Delivering the presidential address, Islamic Academy of Education Chairperson Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi said that in order to provide better facilities of health care, health care and managerial facilities must be integrated.

He further said that enormous changes can be noticed, in the present era with the advancement in technology, in health care facilities.

Health care and hospital management should go hand in hand, as they are the two sides of the same coin, in order to render best facilities and services to the society, he informed.

A paper on ‘Medical Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges’ was presented by Dr Khurshid Alam, managing director, AOC International (UK).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Alam said that medical tourism is a flourishing trend. It is an evergreen field, he added.

He further said that huge money is being invested in order to make India a favoured destination for medical tourism. 

But poor infrastructure facilities in the country pose a greatest challenge to fight against other nations like Korea and Singapore, he opined.

Dr Umesh Prabhu from UK was also present on the occasion.
