Mangalore: All India Kannada Cultural Convention-2008 in Gujarat

Mangalore, Jan 3: Kannada Sangha, Vapi, Gujarat and Hrudayavani newspaper, Mangalore will jointly organize All India Kannada Cultural Convention – 2008  at Vapi in Gujarat on February 16 and 17, said K P Manjunath Sagar, president, Sammelan Samiti at press conference here on Tuesday January 1.

He further said that poets’ meet laughter meet, talk on media and a meet of Gujarat Kannadigas will be organized as part of the Sammelan. Bharatnatyam presentation, folk dance, dance-drama and Yakashagana performance will be held as part of cultural programmes he informed. Book mela and exhibition will also be organized on the occasion, he added.

In order to spread the art and culture of Karnataka the convention is organized in different states of the country, he said detailing about the conventions held earlier.

 The Hrudayavantharu Award will also be conferred on the occasion, he informed and added that those interested to participate in the sammelan can contact Editor, Hrudayavani Newspaper, Manjunath Associates, Raghu building, Urwa Store or contact + 91 824 2455209 or +91 9343343239.

Harikrishna Punaroor, former president, state Kannada Sahitya Parishat said that the said sammelan will help develop Kannada in other states. Nearly 150 litterateurs and artistes will participate in the event, he informed.
