Bantwal: Centenarian Padaru Ishwar Bhat Passes away

Bantwal, Jan 3: Padaru Ishwar Bhat (100), agriculturist and erstwhile leader of cooperative sector from Kolnad-Padaru near here, passed away of a cardiac arrest at home on January 2.

Bhat was the founder-director of Vittal Grameena Sahakari Bank and founder-member of Vithala Vidya Sangh, which both have celebrated their golden jubilee. He had also served as member of Vitla Padnur gram panchayat.

A philanthropist, he had contributed to various religious and social causes. He is survived by four sons and three daughters.
