Udupi: Valedictory function of Global Meet - ICICOT-07 held

Udupi Jan 2: The valedictory function of ICICOT-07, an international IT conference on ‘Advances in Information and Communication Technologies’ took place at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) here.
Speaking on the occasion S Ramakrishnan, director general of CDAC (Pune) said that India is fast emerging as a ‘Knowledge Country’, but we are still lagging in areas of innovation and invention. According to him “India took 25 years to introduce internet, compared to other countries.”
Further appreciating the efforts of MIT for holding the three-day conference he said that it would benefit the network of engineers by helping them to garner the latest knowledge on IT and network engineering.
Ramdas M Pai, chancellor, H S Ballal, pro-chancellor, Vinod Bhat registrar, Manipal University, S S Pabla, director and Manohar Pai organizing chairman of ICICOT-07 spoke on the occasion.
