Pakistan, Indian border troops clash in Punjab


Islamabad, Oct 21 (IANS): Pakistani and Indian border troops exchanged fire on Friday across the working boundary in Shakargarh sector in Punjab, the Pakistani military said.

No loss of life or property was reported, the Dawn quoted the Inter-Services Public Relations as saying.

The statement said that Punjab Rangers "befittingly" responded to the "unprovoked" firing by their Indian counterparts. The firing began at 9 a.m. and continued for half an hour, the report said.
