Bangalore/Bellary: Prof Siddalingaiah to get Nadoja Award

Bangalore/Bellary, Jan 1: Shantarasa Hembheraalu, renowned litterateur and research scholar, Justice Subraya Rama Nayak, freedom fighter, Prof. Siddalingaiah, scholarly poet, and well known folk artist Sukri Bommagowda will be conferred the prestigious 'Nadoja' award at the 16th Nudi Habba of Kannada University at Hampi on January 5.

Hampi University Vice-Chancellor Dr H C Boralingaiah announced this at a press conference held at the university campus on Monday.

The awardees will be felicitated at the convocation to be held on January 5 by Governor Rameshwar Thakur, who is the Chancellor of Kannada University.

The Governor will also award D.Litt degrees to two students, Ph.D degree for 52 students and M.Phil Degree to 110 students, said Boralingaiah. The Governor will also inaugurate the newly constructed 16 residential quarters for the administrative staff at Nrupathunga Nagar.

M Veerappa Moily, Chairman of Administrative Reform Commission, Government of India, and well-known Kannada writer, will be the chief guests.

Moily will inaugurate the History Research Centre building and hostel building constructed for Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. The Governor will release 23 books published by the Kannada University Prasaranga.
