Goa, Dec 29: Prakash Vazrikar, lecturer and head of the department of Konknni, Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Khandola here has been awarded the PhD degree for his thesis in Konknni titled 'Konknni Kadomboreantlem Somaz Dorxon: Achchev ani Karmelin Kadombreanchea Sondorbant.'

Dr Pratap Naik, director of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr, Alto Porvorim guided Vazrikar in his research.

He is the second person to obtain Ph D in Konknni. In 2005 Jayanti Naik got her PhD in Konknni for her research on 'Konknni Lokvedantli Bailechi Protima: Ek Somajik Sonvskrutik Obheas.'
